Who wants to start a farm with us?
We are on the lookout for people to join us to bring the first Harvest Collective farm to life in Te-Whanganui-a-Tara / Wellington. Sometimes it’s hard to switch between big dreams and the practical things. Our big dream is to have a Harvest Collective farm in every community of people in Aotearoa that want to grow food in harmony with nature. Sabrine van Rossum and myself have been doing a lot of thinking and dreaming together for the last six months. In a world where our connection with nature and growing our food feels broken, this dream can bring people back to their food, the earth and each other. How can we make that big dream come to life?
We spoke to so many amazing people in the last months. You’ve supported us with your ideas and enthusiasm. We’ve got so much help from across the country and even from the other side of the world from Herenboeren Nederland in The Netherlands, France and Ireland.
We realised that our big dream of a network of farms across Aotearoa, starts with one farm. One farm where we can show it’s possible and how it will work. And we came to the conclusion that we need to find more people. Not just to dream with us, but to work together to make it happen.
So we would love to create a front runner group of people around us, a little group of dreamers and doers. The focus of the group will be to bring the first Harvest Collective farm come to life close to Wellington. Finding and bringing together 200 households, finding the land and finding an amazing farmer.
So if you would love to come dream with us and make this first Harvest Collective farm happen in Te-Whanganui-a-Tara / Wellington, please reach out to either Sabrine van Rossum or me and join us in this Wellington front runners group.
Whether you lead the charge or join the farm later, every person involved makes this dream possible. So if you are keen to be a part of the front runner group, please send us an email at [email protected]
